Adopt a Monument - Fearghus' Pics
Heritage Week
As a contribution to Heritage Week activities the club has scheduled a special walk on Brandon Hill. the summit of which is the highest point in Co Kilkenny.
The walk will visit some of the many archaeological field sites that are in the uplands of Brandon including, if conditions allow, the site of our 'Adopt a Monument' project.Most of the walk is on forest tracks and pathways but some parts are quite rough and uneven. Because of this it is important to have strong footwear, suitable for rough terrain.
The walk will last for three to four hours so food/drinks for such a spell in the countryside is necessary.
The meeting point is Kilkenny Omniplex (the old cinema), at 11.00 am., from where 'car-pooling' takes place to get to the walk venue of Brandon Hill. Other meeting points can be arranged to suit by contacting the club/organizer.
