Scottish Wild Land

Wild land is a key tourism asset and a magnificent setting for outdoor recreation, but it is also part of our natural heritage, even our fundamental sense of identity as a nation.

Seán's Bogtrot

The Comeragh Bogtrot 2014

The Comeragh Bogtrot in its traditional format will be held on
 Saturday July 26th.

The Bogtrot is approx 25km in distance with an accumulative height
 of approx 900m.
It begins on the Mauma Road S 270 016 and finishes at
 Powers the Pot S 256 197.

The Bogtrot was at one time organised by the Peaks Club and was one of the
most popular of the long mountain walks.

Over the last number of years, a group of Tyndallers and friends have
 participated in a summer Bogtrot.

The walk is enhanced by our host Niall Carroll(Powers the Pot), who not only provides a fine meal at a reasonable cost at the end of the end of the day but also provides safe parking and a taxi to the start of the walk.

The taxi from Powers the Pot to the start at 8.00am usually costs
€10 per person and the meal is approx €16.

Those interested should contact me ASAP by email ( seancostello021@eircom.net)  or phone.

Full particulars will given to Bogtrotters later.
